SALUTATIONS!

Welcome to my first web shrine!! This shrine is dedicated to Rena Ryūgū from Higurashi When They Cry. I'm learning as I make this- bear with me, please!!

I only started reading Higurashi in 2025, with my only prior experience being a handful of the 2006 anime episodes as a teenager... over a decade ago, now. The thing that got me interested was seeing there was a VN emulator compatible with the Nintendo DS, and in investigating, seeing the Higurashi listed in the ported titles. The rest is history!! I've finished the first 5 chapters, and as you may imagine if you've read Higurashi, finding out I was on a Rena heavy chapter was both a curse and blessing.

Rena's character, while still unraveling as I read, has been my favorite since starting the series. Her personality is so silly, and learning about why she presents herself in this way has been bittersweet. In a way I haven't become attached to any other singular character, I've found reading about her hardships has really bummed me out... so!! This site serves as a digital sanctuary for the Rena of my mind to live happily, surrounded by cute treasures: as well as a haven for me to return to when I want to see Rena, without having to brave the horrors of entering Hinamizawa.
